One of the things that the 2000s are known for is the large leap in technological advancements throughout the decade, from DVD sales overtaking VHS sales, broadband overtaking dial up, the introductions of Windows XP, Vista, and 7, and more all happening by 12/31/2009. Here we take a look at all of the technological progress that has happened from the very start of the decade though the very end of the decade (as well as some of the gadgets that I personally own).

Tip: You can find a lot of older tech on eBay or at your local thrift store if you're looking to own any of these sorts of items (though unfortunately, older 2G and 3G cellphones/PDAs may not work in your area anymore due to national or carrier shutdowns that have already happened recently or will happen in the near future, so if you're looking to get an older cellphone, look up the status of 2G/3G networks in your country). Currently, I own a 4G flip phone, as 3G networks have unfortunately already shut down here in the US in 2022 (and I'm pretty sure 2G was shut down at some point as well).
Also, if you plan on running an older computer operating system, I'd highly recommend installing an antivirus onto your computer as unsupported operating systems may be at an increased risk of virus/malware attacks.
For all other devices, you can still use them as you normally would without having to worry about network availability or viruses and of course, make sure all tapes and discs you own are properly stored in a cool, dark, and dry place.
