So, you think you know what it takes to live like it's the 2000s? Read this first:

There are few basic things that you'll need to remember to achieve this sort of lifestyle. First and foremost, people went outside and actually socialized face to face in the 2000s. Sure, the internet and basic cellphones existed back then, but they didn't completely take over people's lives just yet as they do now. People still left the house quite often and actually talked to people in the real 3 dimensional world, with things like instant messaging services and early social media being something reserved only for after school/work/whatever, and on a personal computer instead of on a mobile device at that (on a related note, ever heard of the phrase "call me after 9"?).

Second, keep in mind that the year 2000 versus 2009 are almost completely different worlds despite both years being a part of the same decade. The cultural differences between the beginning versus the end of the decade are quite significant. In the year 2000, you may have been listening to teen pop or nu metal on your CD player, walking around with your hair spiked up and tips bleached or long and parted down the center of your scalp. By 2009, you would've probably been listening to some electropop or post hardcore music or whatever on your MP3 player with your hair and bangs parted down the side of your head.
